Anna D. Lalakulich (Obrovac)'s Obituary
Anna D. (Obrovac) Lalakulich, 95, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Hillside Manor Personal Care Home. She was born on June 20, 1921 in Oliver #3, daughter of the late Mile Obrovac and Mary (Sabatula) Obrovac.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Mike, her daughter Barbara Jean, brothers, George and Mike; sisters, Mary, Christina, Barbara and Dorothy; and siblings Agnes and Eli in infancy.
Anna was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church of Uniontown, a former member of the Parent Teacher Guild, Ladies Guild and Ladies Guild Bowling Team; a volunteer in the church kitchen for Perohi, as well as the parish school in the past. She was an avid Bingo player, and was active in volunteering her time during political elections.
She was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge # 72 Auxiliary, Uniontown, the Croatian Mothers Club, and volunteer at Mount St. Macrina Nursing Home, and also for the Sisters of St. Basil the Great.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa A. McEachern and husband David, her grandchildren who lovingly knew her as "Gigi", Michael S. Hutsenpiller, and Melissa A. Thomas; great grandchildren, Paige, Seth, and Austin, and Alexia and Cameron; a brother, Frank Obrovac, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was surrounded by kind and loving friends, especially her dearest close friend, Vicki Hartsek.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, (today) Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; and Monday until 10:30 a.m.
The Divine Liturgy with Christian Burial will follow on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 East Main St., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Robert Karl as celebrant.
Interment will be held at St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
The Parastas Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening 7 p.m.
