Anita Elaine (Hlatky) Kollar, 91 of Uniontown Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Smithfield, Pa. on June 21, 1926, daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Hlatky. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Kollar, daughter, Anita Marie Lent, son, Theodore Kollar, Jr.; grandchildren, Michele Nicole Lent, Jessie Lent, Michael Lovat, and Robert Paul Kollar, Jr.; brothers, Steve, Andrew, Floyd, and Joseph; and sisters, Susan, Annie, Helen, and Rose.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Donna Lilley of Herbert, with whom she made her home, Patricia Ann Lovat and husband Joseph of Smock, Robert Paul Kollar of Uniontown, Margaret Zentkovich and husband Franklin of Shoaf, Susan Hlatky and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Anita Lilley, Christy Drews and husband Bob, Joseph Lovat, Jr. and wife Pam, Stephanie Long and husband Larry, Jamie Lent and wife Erica, Brian Lent and wife Stacey, Cody Lent and wife Carrie, Carmella Kollar, Cadin Kollar, Melissa Vaughn and husband Jason, Timothy Kollar and wife Laura, Ashley Kobelski and husband Gary, Tamela Zentkovich, Frances Barnas and husband AJ, Christopher Hlatky, Gregory Hlatky, Savanna Hlatky; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Augustine of Uniontown, Agnes Goodwin of Smithfield, Elizabeth Fair of Cleveland, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and volunteered at St. John Byzantine Church making Perohi.
"Elaine" lived for her family. She taught her children that faith, honesty, charity and hard work were important and something to be proud of in life. While raising her family, she worked for the White Swan Hotel for twenty years, then J.K. Packing Company, Northside Market, St. Mary's School Cafeteria, and Hartsek Catering. Later, she enjoyed working with her daughter Patty, at Patty's Bridal at Uniontown Mall. She will be deeply missed by her family, and by many friends who loved her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lafayette Manor Nursing Home for their fabulous care, dignity, and compassion given to our mother.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext. Uniontown, PA on Friday, May 4, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Saturday, May 5, until 9:15 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as celebrant. Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service led by the Lazarus Ministry will be held on Friday at 3 p.m.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
