Andrew E. Pindrock, 92, formerly of Smock, Pa., died on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Lutheran Home of Topton Pennsylvania. He was born in Star Junction, Pa. on August 6, 1925, son of the late Anton and Mary (Sims) Pindrock. In addition to his parents Andy was preceded in death by his wife Susan M. (Palo) Pindrock in 1998, four brothers, Al, Joe, Tony and John Pindrock, a sister, Mary Kosarek, and a brother-in-law, Joe Palo.
Andrew proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Navy in the European Theatre of Operations and Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a retired railroad worker, former member of St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church in Smock, and also St. John Roman Catholic Church in Perryopolis, and VFW Post 47.
Andy loved his family and was a hardworking and deeply faithful man, who recited the Rosary daily. He enjoyed going to diners, and spending time with friends who often referred to him as "A.E." ,"Cuz", "Mr. Pindrock", and "One of the good guys".
He leaves behind his loving son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Margie Pindrock of Shillington, Pa; his grandson, Erik T. Pindrock of New York City, NY, a brother, Mike Pindrock of Strongsville, OH, and sisters, Millie D'Christaforo of Niles, OH, Josie Cofer and husband Willie of Alexandria, VA, Helen Pindrock of Alexandria, VA, Cathy Stanik and husband Bob of Pinehurst, NC, and many nieces, nephews, and family members.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext. Uniontown, PA on Wednesday, May 23, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and until 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. on Thursday in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, Pa.
Interment will be held at St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa, where military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 8543
