Amabla "Mabel" Luigia Serpento Sementa, 90, of Fairchance, PA, passed away on Sunday January 29, 2017. Mabel was a resident of Fairfield's Liberty Hall Personal Care Home, in Fairchance, PA.
Mabel was born on December 1, 1926, in Fairchance, the daughter of Bernardino and Luigia Amatucci Serpento, originally from Italy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Sementa on January 20, 1987; twin daughters, Patricia and Pamela Sementa; beloved sister, Julia Merbedone, originally from Villa Lempa, Italy; and brothers, Silvio and Joseph Serpento.
Surviving are her son Richard Sementa and his wife Amy; loving grandson, Albert R. Sementa; her brother-in-law Elmer "Tarzan" Sementa and wife Eleanor and her brother, S. Thomas Serpento.
Mabel was a lifetime member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church and the Sons of Italy, in Fairchance.
Mabel and her late husband, Albert, owned the White Front, Super Dollar, and Shop n' Save Markets in Fairchance from 1958 to 2000.
Mabel and Albert's generosity and philanthropic efforts had a profound impact on many lives, businesses, organizations, and charities in Fairchance. Mabel and Albert will be remembered for generations for sharing their success and lending a helping hand to the entire community.
The family will receive friends in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Wednesday February 1, 2017 from 1-5 p.m. and Thursday February 2, 2017 from 3-8 p.m.
Interment will be private.
