Alice Louise (Dils) Pechunka, age 87, of Uniontown, PA., passed away, on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on January 13, 1927 in Uniontown, PA., daughter of the late Ralph J. Dils and Elsie (Wilk) Dils.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years John Pechunka; and a sister Geraldine Dils.

Alice was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church of Uniontown, PA. and a member of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. Alice retired from Uniontown Hospital, after 40 years, as a registered nurse.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, John P. Pechunka and wife Kathy, of Uniontown, Judy Hudak and husband Joe, of Ogden, Utah, Sharon Madigan of Boswell, PA., Diane Smarslok and husband Paul, of North Huntingdon, PA., Denise Jill Kaminski and husband Dale, of Clairton, PA., and Dave Pechunka and wife Lori of North Huntingdon, PA.; eleven grandchildren, Natalie, Ben, Janine, Alyson, Patrick, Kelly, Jonathan, Brianne, Hiedi, Ryan, and Jason; a sister, Marjorie Langley; and a long time friend, Tammy.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 3-9PM and again on Wednesday, April 9, 2013 until 10:00AM when a Panachida will be held.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, in Uniontown, PA. with Rev. Fr. Ronald P. Larko as celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.

A Parastas service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 8.
