Agnes A. (Lemansky) Shinsky, 93, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Horizon Personal Care Home, Fairchance, PA. She was born on January 15, 1920 in Star Junction, PA. daughter of the late Michael Lemansky and Cecelia (Cwiklinski) Lemansky-Zuchowsky; and stepdaughter of the late John Zuchowsky.
Her husband Andrew A. Shinsky, whom she married on October 29, 1940, preceded her in death on October 17, 2005. She also was predeceased by five brothers and sisters, Helen Miscovich, Francis Lemansky, Clarence "Cork" Lemansky, John Lemansky, and Michael Lemansky.
Agnes was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, St. Joseph Confraternity of Christian Mothers, the former Happy Helens Club, Flowers Bowling League, Catholic War Veterans Post 1669 Auxiliary, volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul, and cooked with Mrosko Catering for many years.
Surviving are her children, Larry Shinsky and wife Janet, Lois Ann Sabol and husband Richard, Cecelia "Tia" Cropp and husband Dennis, all of Uniontown, PA; Michael "Mick" Shinsky and wife Connie of Scottdale, PA; and Kenneth Shinsky and wife Regina of Clemmons, NC; 12 grandchildren, David Shinsky and wife Mary Ann, Krista D'Amico and husband Don, Stephen Sabol, Mark Sabol and wife Wendy, Marci Collins, Rick Sabol, Tricia Smith, Dan Smith and wife Joy, Tiffany Neal and husband Frank, Michael Shinsky and wife Lisa, Jacob Shinsky and wife Wendy, and Jordan Shinsky and wife Sarah; 25 great grandchildren; two brothers, Anthony Lemansky and wife Amelia, and Thomas Lemansky and wife Angela, both of Uniontown, PA; a sister, Regina Houk and husband Russell of Bethel Park, PA; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
The family expresses sincere thanks for the wonderful care and compassion given to our mother, by the staff and management of Amedisys Home Health of PA, especially Jamie; and also the staff and management of Horizon Personal Care Home.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA on Monday, March 25, from 2 pm until 9 p.m.; and also on Tuesday, March 26, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Ronald L. Simboli as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hopwood, PA
St. Joseph Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary on Monday at 3:45 p.m..
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph R.C. Church.
